Web Developer for Human-Machine Teaming

IHMC is seeking a software developer to assist with projects related to human-robot teaming. The role would involve development of web-based tools and algorithms that support the design and execution of robot behaviors in human-robot teams.

The ideal candidate would have proficiency with the Web development stack. They should be competent with client-side programming including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (ES6 and recent APIs, typescript would be a plus). Note that jQuery alone does not count. They should understand client-server communication including HTTP, WebSocket, and a general understanding of network protocols. They should also be proficient on the server-side including Node, npm, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and non-relational databases.

Additional skills that would be useful include knowledge of automated planning and scheduling (Hierarchical, partial order), robotics, simulation and teaming. Also experience with Java, Git and browser dev tools is a plus.

The candidate must work well within a team of developers. They should have good speaking and writing skills and be able to express complex ideas clearly and succinctly. The candidate should also be self-motivated, should be able to solve challenges without significant assistance, and should pro-actively seek to help the team achieve its goals.
