Two postdocs (basic qualification: PhD) openings are currently available in Surgical Robotics and Devices Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, led by Professor Shing Shin Cheng. The multiple posts will last for either 12 months or 18 months, subject to mutual agreement.
We are seeking strong candidates who have background in any of the following research areas: robotics, image processing, AI, mechanical design, modeling and control, smart actuators, planning and navigation. Preferences will be given to those who have experiences in surgical robotics, soft robotics, and medical imaging-related research. The appointee will be expected to conduct high impact and potentially technology translatable research related to surgical robotics. He/She will assist the PI in supporting multiple research projects.
Post-docs/research associates should, by the beginning of their contracts, (i) have the basic qualifications mentioned above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other related engineering disciplines; (ii) have strong publication records in high impact factor journals; (iii) demonstrate effective written and spoken English. Experience collaborating with clinical personnel would be an advantage.
