An opportunity for up to two (2) early career researchers to join the UTS Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS), an internationally acclaimed robotics research group, and to work together with robotics researchers at UTS. CAS has strong links with researchers and industry locally and abroad. The Postdoctoral Fellow(s) is expected to contribute to strengthen this relationship.

CAS’ vision is to be an internationally recognised leader, at a scale and quality to be globally significant, for robotics research, development and commercial application of autonomous robotics. Since its establishment in 2003, CAS has demonstrated international leadership in driving research advancements in robotics and in delivering real-world solutions to key challenges facing government, industry and the wider community. Examples include the autonomous robots for bridge maintenance and the autonomous bio-inspired climbing robots, both deployed in the Sydney Harbour Bridge. CAS currently has over 75 robotics researchers (including PhD students) with international reputation in SLAM, Infrastructure Robotics, Assistive Robotics and Robot teams. CAS has developed a very strong engagement program with industry and governments. CAS prides itself on a culture of cooperation, collaboration and “ownership”.
CAS seeks to appoint up to two Postdoctoral Fellows with expertise in robotics, manipulation, perception, localisation, planning, or related fields; and experience in developing intelligent robotic systems for industry applications, to join a team of researchers working on the project “An Intelligent Robotic System for Automatic Rendering”.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to research within the Centre for Autonomous Systems in the UTS Faculty of Engineering & IT:
* Work closely with researchers in the team of the project “An Intelligent Robotic System for Automatic Rendering”
* Conduct excellent and high impact research related to the project in the fields of robotics, perception, planning, or the related fields
* Contribute as a team-player within the project team and the research Centre
* Assist project Chief Investigators (CIs) to manage research projects

Salary Range: A$101,932 to A$116,641 pa (Academic Level B)
