Multiple Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor Positions in Robotics and related fields of Control, Automation, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant/associate professor in the area of robotics and related fields of control, automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Applicants are expected to have earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, should demonstrate strong potential for establishing and maintaining a vibrant and high-impact externally funded, nationally and internationally recognized scholarly research program, possess a passion for and be committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring, and aspire to actively participate in creating and nurturing a highly collaborative, creative, innovative and entrepreneurial culture at Stevens. Of particular interest are candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and service, to the diversity and excellence of Stevens’ academic community. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an outstanding record of accomplishment and show exceptional potential for collaborative research that complements and augments existing expertise in robotics and related disciplines at Stevens. This includes perception and navigation for autonomous vehicles, robot learning, human-robot interaction, wearable and rehabilitative robotics, multi-robot systems, and robotics for manufacturing and automation. This position also presents the opportunity for membership and teaming with the newly-founded Stevens Institute for Artificial Intelligence, a potential vehicle for collaboration with faculty in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Systems and Enterprises, and other disciplines with a shared interest in robotics/A.I.
