**Call for Contributions**

At this years *European Robotics Forum
<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.eu-2Drobotics.net_robotics-5Fforum_&d=DwIDaQ&c=clK7kQUTWtAVEOVIgvi0NU5BOUHhpN0H8p7CSfnc_gI&r=0w3solp5fswiyWF2RL6rSs8MCeFamFEPafDTOhgTfYI&m=vD-gDygtk7-r20Dp-jUiplyH1i4DtGIGFBqT9OYASqg&s=hkQ3EiEaXrsm3w3HIBwzYoO8ZIz-gZaxBZRXM-3bioQ&e=>*, taking place March 20th
to 22nd in Bucharest, Romania, the

*2nd Workshop on Modular Concepts for Assembly and Handling*

is taking place on *March 20th 14:00*
Please contribute your ideas and research results in this field in form
of a 7 or 15 minute *presentation*.

The objective of the workshop is to continue the discussion on how
_modular_ approaches can overcome limitations of solutions based on
monolithic robots.

Contributions from academic researchers, companies as well as startups
are highly welcome. If you work on new hardware or software solutions
that are targeted at solving the automation entry barrier problem, you
will likely have something valuable to add in the discussion. A
particular focus is set on handling and assembly systems. All three
combinations (off-the-shelf hardware + new software, new hardware +
off-the-shelf software, new hardware + new software) are of interest.
Apart from proposing novel solutions, the contribution of real-world use
cases, requirements and KPIs for flexible modular(?) robotics handling
and assembly systems are encouraged.

The agenda of the workshop
is divided into five parts:
I) Welcome, Introduction
II) Software approaches, 3 presentations, 7 minutes each
III) Hardware approaches, 3 presentations, 7 minutes each
IV) Hardware-software approaches, 3 presentations, 7 minutes each
V) Moderated audience discussion on "modularity"; Wrap-up
Depending on the number of contributions in each segment, 15 minute
presentations can also be fitted in.

If you are interested, please send me an email with a brief summary of
your proposed contribution by _March 11th_. Also include your preference
for a 7 minute or a 15 minute presentation slot.
Slots are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis, i.e. the sooner
you send your proposal, the sooner you will receive a confirmation.

Looking forward to meet you (again) at ERF 2019!

Best regards,
Andreas Bihlmaier
