Dear Colleagues,

We would kindly like to invite you to participate in the full-day ICRA
2019 Workshop titled *"Next Generation Surgery: Seamless integration of
Robotics, Machine Learning and Knowledge Representation within the
operating rooms"* which will be held on Thursday 23 May 2019 or Friday
24 May 2019 at ICRA 2019. The exact day will be confirmed as soon as the
program of the ICRA workshops will be available.

The aim of this workshop is to explore the next generation of robotic
surgery from different and diverse angles. One aspect will concentrate
on the most innovative technologies and advances in the fields of
robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and knowledge
representation. A second aspect will focus on international scientific
projects presented as motivating case studies. Importantly, the
industrial point-of-view will be accommodated in a “reality testing”
role, regarding the current level of adoption of scientific research in
the field and future potential.

Please see the workshop website for details and updates:

The topics that will be addressed in the Workshop are:

- TOPIC 1: Motivating case studies
- TOPIC 2: Robotics – control and planning
- TOPIC 3: Perception, knowledge representation for reasoning and
Artificial Intelligence
- TOPIC 4: Industry

We welcome researchers to submit papers to be presented as posters,
using the submission form available on the Workshop website.
Selected contributions will be presented by the organizers during short
spotlight timeslots and during interactive sessions at coffee and lunch

The Workshop received the endorsement of the Cognitive Robotics and
Surgical Robotics IEEE RAS TCs.
