Dear Colleagues,

We would like to announce a special issue on "BioRobotics Research for Healthy Living and Active Ageing" of the MDPI journal robotics.

This Special Issue appeals to researchers from the different scientific communities interested in the bio-robotics research for healthy living and active aging to submit their latest results in the development of solutions based on cloud services, artificial intelligence, and robotic technologies aiming at tackling bio-robotics challenges in enhancing people everyday life, providing high-quality healthcare service, assistive and monitoring solutions for active and healthy ageing; objective assessment in chronic diseases; objective neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation in neurodegenerative diseases; and physical and cognitive stimulation and rehabilitation in cognitive frailty.

We would like to inform you that this Special Issue is linked to the Workshop on Internet of intelligent robotic things for healthy living and active ageing: Where we are and future trends that will be held in conjunction with the 28th IEEE International Conference on Robot and Human Interactive Communication, 14–18 October 2019, New Delhi, India. The workshop aims at bringing together researchers from different scientific communities either interested in or actively working on the application of ICT and robotics to provide services specifically designed for the elderly in order to enhance their everyday life and be provided with high-quality healthcare services. We believe a multidisciplinary environment is ideal for fostering and promoting this research area because of its fundamentally interdisciplinary nature. To effectively provide useful robotic services for elderly users requires an intimate collaboration between psychologists, sociologists, computer scientists, and robotics researchers.

We solicit contributions from researchers of any discipline because we believe that a multidisciplinary environment is ideal for fostering and promoting this research area due to its fundamentally interdisciplinary nature.

Authors of a manuscript accepted (including those with minor revisions) for publication in the Special Issue before the 10/09/2019 will be given the opportunity to present at the workshop.
Vice versa, authors of best contributions accepted at the workshop will be invited to submit a revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers to the special issue.

Manuscripts can be submitted to the special issue at any time until the deadline 31/01/2020. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website.
