The RTCMA is an industry-funded centre with a long (12-year) history working with Rio Tinto to deploy state-of-the-art research algorithms into production systems. We have a team of academics as well as software developers working together to not only perform the academic research, but turn these ideas into practical systems.

Optimisation of multi-agent fleets of autonomous mining vehicles

  *   Level A/B postdoc positions
  *   The ideal candidate should have experience in optimisation, control, operations research, multi-agent scheduling or planning, and the programming skills to develop and test algorithms in these areas.

  *   Level C position to lead a research project within the centre
  *   The ideal candidate should have experience in perception and sensing for field robotics, task and motion planning, and the programming skills to develop and test algorithms in these areas including planning/controlling interactions between vehicles cooperating to perform tasks, as well as experience managing a research project and/or supervising in a research project context.
