PhD opportunities are available as part of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Robotics and
Autonomous systems (CDT-RAS), which will fund over 80 PhDs in the next 5

The Edinburgh Centre for Robotics (ECR) is a joint institue of the University of
Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University. Hosted at ECR, the CDT-RAS is leading in the UK effort to realise its industrial potential in this revolution, by producing a
new generation of highly skilled researchers, trained to take a central
role through technical skill coupled to industry and market awareness.

A PhD project jointly supervised by Dr. M.W. Dunnigan (Hariot Watt) and Dr. F. Giorgio-Serchi (University of Edinburgh) is available in the topic of "Model Predictive Control of underwater floating-base manipulator systems in rough seas".
