As research on perception for intelligent vehicles is performed in different communities, like ITS, R&A, and CV, we believe the enclosed CFP, for a special session on "Urban localization", to be of interest to the readers of this list.

Please consider to submit to this special session your recent research results.

The IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference (ITSC) is the main conference of the ITS society of IEEE, and is taking place in Auckland, New Zealand, 27-30 October 2019.

ITSC 2019 will host a special session on Urban Localization, which will focus on approaches that exploit urban features, and/or the usage of heterogeneous localization systems in innovative ways, to obtain a reliable vehicle localization, with the objective to put together both academic and industry research in this specific domain.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
	• detection, and exploitation for localization, of buildings, curbs, lanes, intersections, and other urban features that cannot be here anticipated;
	• cartographic map exploitation for localization;
	• innovative usage of different localization systems/cues for localization;
	• exploitation of traffic detection and tracking in specific areas, e.g., intersections, for localization;
	• datasets containing urban features, and ground truth, for benchmarking purposes.

Special session papers will be part of the conference proceedings and so will appear in IEEE Xplore®. See the conference website for requirements on authors of accepted papers.

According to the quality of the papers, the session chairs will arrange a dedicated special issue on a significant journal in the field.
